On Saturday November 16th, members of Chalfont Post 3258 participated in a veteran in need service project in Feasterville, PA. In August 2019, the post became aware of a veteran in need that had a deteriorating roof on her house and was in dire need of replacement. Post Commander John Otte brought this situation to the attention of the post and members sprang into action. In close coordination with leaders from both District 8 and the Department of PA, members were able to secure a donation of new roofing supplies as well as the professional skilled labor to install the new roof. Members then gathered at the veterans property volunteer to remove the old roof as well as perform other much needed work such as yard cleanup, tree and bush trimming as well as trash removal from the premises. It was an amazing team effort that resulted in a complete rehab of the exterior of the home in just 6 hours. Post 3258 members will be organizing another volunteer work team to address and fix issues on the interior side of the house in the near future.
